Built for a bigger guest list
The single biggest difference in Luton is scale. Function suites here are booked for two and three hundred guests far more often than in the other towns on this list, and a display sized for a front room simply disappears in a room that size.
That changes the brief in a specific way. One corner done properly is still the right approach, but the corner has to be bigger, and it has to be visible from the back of the room. Light up letters do a lot of work here because they read from a distance, and a sequin wall holds up under function room lighting where a plain backdrop goes flat.
The other consideration is the running order. Larger events often have a formal sequence, an entrance, and a stage or a top table that has to be the focal point. Styling that ignores where people will actually be looking is wasted, so we will ask about the running order rather than just the colours.

Terraced streets and a very different set of rooms
Away from the function suites, a lot of Luton's housing is dense Victorian and Edwardian terracing through High Town, Round Green and Farley Hill. Small rooms, narrow hallways, no side access, and a front door that opens straight onto the pavement.
It genuinely affects what we can bring. A large freestanding letter that walks easily through a modern hallway will not always turn the corner in a terrace, and that is a much better thing to know at the quote than on the day. We would rather propose a garland and a smaller display that actually fits than sell you a piece that has to go back on the van.
The 1930s and post war semis out towards Stopsley, Leagrave and Bramingham sit in between: usable wall width, decent access, and enough room for a backdrop and a number together.
