A play area built for the under fives
Soft play hire means we bring the play area to you and build it on the day. A ball pit, soft blocks to climb, a set of steps, a rocker and a tunnel to crawl through, all padded, all low to the ground and all sized for children who are still fairly new to walking. The whole thing sits on foam matting that we lay first, so it works on a hard floor indoors or straight onto grass and paving outside.
It earns its keep at first birthdays and christenings, and at any long family day where the youngest guests run out of patience well before the adults do. The children get somewhere that is theirs, and the parents get to sit down for ten minutes, which is usually the real point of it.

Matched to the rest of the party
This is the part that is different for us. We already build the balloons, the backdrops and the light up numbers, so the soft play does not have to be the odd one out in the corner. We set it in cream and neutral tones or in pinks, and pick the balloons, the backdrop and the props up from the same palette so the whole room reads as one thing.
The ball pit panel can be printed with the birthday child's name and the theme, as in the photograph here. Tell us what the party is about and we will build around it rather than dropping a generic play area into the middle of it.

What to know before you book
- It is built for children under five. Everything is padded, low to the ground and sized for little legs.
- We bring the foam matting and lay it first, so it goes indoors on a floor or outside on grass or paving.
- The ball pit panel can be printed with the birthday child's name and the theme.
- Cream and neutral or pink, with the balloons, backdrop and light up number picked to match.
- We deliver, build it and come back to take it all down. Nothing for you to move or clean.
- Shoes off, no food or drink in the play area, and an adult keeping an eye the whole time.

What ages is soft play hire for?
Under fives. It is built for children who are crawling, toddling or newly walking, so everything is padded, low and soft edged. Older children tend to lose interest quickly and can be a bit rough on it with the little ones underfoot, so it is worth thinking about the age spread at your party when you tell us numbers.
Can you set it up in the garden?
Yes. We lay foam matting down first, so it goes onto grass or paving as well as an indoor floor. The ground needs to be reasonably flat and dry. British weather being what it is, it is worth having a room or a gazebo in mind as a fallback, and telling us when you book so we plan for both.
Can the ball pit have my child's name on it?
Yes. The panel on the side can be printed with the name and the theme, which is what you can see in the photographs on this page. Tell us the wording when you book and give us as much notice as you can, because it has to be made up before the day.
Do you set it up and take it away again?
Yes. We deliver it, build it and come back afterwards to take it down and take it away. You do not need to move any of it or clean it. Tell us what time you need it ready and what time the room or garden has to be clear.
How much does soft play hire cost?
It depends on how much you want, how long you need it and where you are, so we would rather price it properly than put a number here that turns out not to fit your party. Ring the events line on 07584 653282 with your date, rough numbers and the ages, and we will price it up.
