The centrepiece, and everything around it
A centrepiece has one job it must not fail. People have to be able to talk across it. Tall and narrow on a stem works, and low and wide works. It is the middle height that blocks the table and leaves half your guests leaning around it all night.
Around that sits the rest of it. A runner or a length of fabric to carry your colour down the table, candles at two or three heights, charger plates under the settings, a place card and something small at each seat. The top table usually needs a little more than the others, because it is the one everybody looks at and photographs.

Tied to the room, and not paid for twice
Tables are the easiest part of a room to get wrong, because they are usually booked last and from somebody else. If the garland behind the top table is sage and ivory, the tables in front of it should not be a different green. We take the colours from whatever is going into the room and repeat them at table height, so it reads as one room rather than two separate hires.
Before you book anything, ask your venue for a written list of what their package already includes. Many supply linen, and some supply centrepieces, mirror plates or tealights as well, which is how people end up paying twice for the same table. Ask about naked flames while you are there, because some rooms only allow candles in enclosed holders, or not at all. Send us that list and we will style around it.

What should I check with my venue before booking table decor?
Ask them for a written list of what their package already includes. Can the tables match my balloon display?
Yes, and they should. We take the colours from the garland, backdrop or light up numbers going into the room and repeat them on the tables, so the two halves of the room agree. Send a photograph, a swatch or your invitation and we will match it as closely as the ranges allow, rather than working from a colour name.
Do you set the tables up yourselves?
Yes. We set up on site, usually once the venue has laid the linen and the covers, and we work to their access times. Anything hired comes back with us when we collect afterwards, so you are not left packing tables away yourself.
Which areas do you cover for table styling?
Bedford, Milton Keynes, St Neots, Luton and Hitchin, plus the smaller towns around them. Tell us your postcode and we will confirm. Give us as much notice as you can, especially if the tables need to match something else we are building for you.
